Friends of Whitchurch


Friends of Whitchurch is an independent registered charity. Its members are all either parents/guardians/carers of pupils at the school or members of staff.

Its purpose is to encourage its members to work with the pupils and local community to raise funds for the school so that the learning environment can be further improved. (Registered Number 1047710 – NB the name was changed formally from Whitchurch Schools PTA in 2015).

As a registered charity, the accounts are submitted to the Charity Commission and can be viewed at the Charity Commission website.

Activities and Donations

We have regular meetings. More information can be found on the Meetings and Minutes page.

The charity runs a range of fundraising activities throughout the academic year and relies extensively on the school’s support to communicate with parents/guardians/carers and for logistical support with the use of the school premises. Activities change from year to year with the injection of new ideas from new members and typically include:

Bags2School – recycling operated three times a year after each half term

Bake-A-Heart – operated in February straight after school – a fun and frantic cake sale!

Easter Egg Raffle – with yummy chocolate prizes for winners from each class and chocolate gifts for all the pupils

Summer Fair – The flagship event only made possible with the support of all members, pupils and the community.

Easyfundraising – an online platform that enables donations when shopping online with 1000s of retailers and that costs the shopper nothing extra at all!
