Free School Meals
As of September 2014 all children in Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 are entitled to receive free meals as a result of a government initiative. However, it is important for all parents to test whether they would be entitled to free school meals if this scheme did not exist. This is because where parents are shown to be eligible, schools can claim extra government funds to improve the school’s resources and provide a better service to children. By applying for free school meals, Whitchurch Primary School could benefit from up to £1320 additional funding to support their learning. Parents of children in Reception up to Year 6 can apply.
Find out if your child is entitled to free school meals using the Free School Meals Eligibility Checker. You could save hundreds of pounds a year, claim free antivirus software and make additional funding available to the school to enhance the education provided here. Read this guide with instructions on using the site. For any questions, visit the FAQ or ask at the school reception.
